This was a great day on Dumgoyne, decided last minute. The weather was looking fine and the sunsets were good early-May, perhaps owing to Eyjafjallajökull erupting in Iceland spreading it's ash across Europe. I'd hoped for a more spectacular sunset, but what we got was good. One picture came out superior (3rd below) although it wasn't the one I'd expected. Although cold on the summit, we walked up and back down at an easy going pace.

Although going directly from the Distillery on the way up, we descended via. the Strathblane approach and contoured around the southern slopes beneath some cliffs I'd never taken notice of previously. Still, no rock climbing interest here - the whole lot was loose and crumbled beneath fingertips.

Also of interest was a fire on Quinloch Muir beneath the Auchineden Hill. The fire on the moor blazed throughout our walk, so on the way home, we stopped by to have a look although we were met with fire engines but no spectacular fire. Well, we could hope.
