A cool day out with Barry, around the familiar old circuit from Bridge of Orchy. By this point I'd been up both hills multiple times - they were getting to be very well known. We made good time this day: a time of just over an hour and a half to Dorain's summit essentially matches my best efforts. The continuation to Dothaidh was pretty speedy, too. The weather was pleasant - the light was flat, but the absence of sun made the temperature just about perfect.

One of my main memories of the day was standing on the rim of Beinn an Dothaidh, looking over Rannoch Moor and telling Barry about my plans for the Munros in the following summer. What amazes me looking back (writing this in 2015!) is that I was so damn certain of the Munro Round, so focused, so completely convinced that I will do this. And how much I really wanted to go and experience that. I explained that the Munro Round route seemed to create a six-week loop (with deviation to the Cairngorms) around the natural basin of Rannoch Moor. It circled around the mountains that flanked the southern perimeter, went off east, then arrived back west to pick the teeth of the northern wall - Alder to Nevis, essentially. Aesthetically it's pretty amazing. In the end I did the circular route in less linear fashion (i.e. not self-propelled), but that's maybe for the future.

We headed directly down from the west top of Dothaidh, back to the bealach and then down to Bridge of Orchy. I don't remember a hell of a lot of the day, but it was pleasant and a lot of fun, as always.
