Dumgoyne - 427m
Thursday 29th May 2014

Weather/Conditions: I recall this being really cold and windy at the top - and while I wasn't carrying many layers, I arrived at the summit simultaneously boiling from the effort and being rapidly cooled by that damn wind. So I behind the summit stone and tried to recover without freezing!
Distance/Ascent/Time: 3.2km / 400m / 39m

A fast time up Dumgoyne. I never seem to be able to beat the 20 minute mark for start stile to summit. But nonetheless, I was glad to clock 21:59 and beat the 22 minute mark by a second. I took three minutes breather on the summit, rapidly cooling in a strong and bitter wind, then turned to head down. I've always enjoyed these fast walks up Dumgoyne. I'm pretty sure I timed myself pre-2013, as I remember telling Colin L that summer about my 22 minutes to climb 400m. But anyway - on this day I managed to match that at least, though the effort level just feels so astronomical that i couldn't quite imagine beating 20 minutes! Some day...
