This was unexpected, the end to a really great day. Jack was in the area in the morning, and we spent the early part of the day on Stac an Eich climbing Gunslinger (E3), a cracking route which climbs as much like a sport route as it does trad - a fact emphasized in that we climbed it on pre-placed gear! A solid, steep route, with a hard start.



In the late afternoon, Kate mentioned going for a walk. So we drove over to Onich with the sun going down, parked just around the corner toward Corran Ferry and headed off up the ridge which bounds the Leven recess of Loch Linnhe.



It was a good bash through fresh bracken, woodland and grasslands. We walked for a good while, only stopping when the sun had firmly gone down and the night was coming in. We had views down Loch Linnhe to Mull, the sun setting behind Ardgour, and warm glow of last light on the summits of Glen Coe. I made this place home in January, and at times like these that's a really nice thought.
